Bill & Lena’s work in Peru will initially have two focal points: Latin America ChildCare and teaching at the Assemblies of God Seminary in Lima.
Latin America ChildCare (LACC) is transforming whole communities with education, food and medical services. Lena felt called to work with LACC in 1988 through a vision of a mother and child, but the timing was not right. God led her to work in Chi Alpha with Bill. But during all the years with Chi Alpha, she never forgot the vision.
Bill also developed a burden for this ministry after doing mission trips to Mexico. There he was confronted with the plight of impoverished children without an education or the hope of a better life. LACC brings more than just an education, it is the Gospel in action.

Teaching at the seminary is also a strategic fulfillment of a burden, which has been on Bill’s heart for many years. As the Ohio Chi Alpha District Rep., Bill had the opportunity to strategize about how to grow a ministry and the joy walking out that strategy with a team of campus pastors. To develop himself further in leadership skills, Bill is working on a doctorate in Pentecostal Leadership at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. He is eager to continue walking alongside leaders in Peru. The verses which best reflect Bill’s heart for discipling leaders are in Romans 1:11-12, where Paul says, “I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong--that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith.” (NIV)
